What Is Zen Thai Massage

Zen Thai Massage, also known as Zenthai Shiatsu, is a holistic movement-based therapy integrating Zen Shiatsu, Traditional Thai Massage and Osteopathic techniques.  It is an effective structural and energetic form of bodywork that invites freedom into the body, releasing areas of held tension, and increasing the flow of energy.  Come with us on a journey to realise your infinite potential by opening energy pathways of Qi life-force energy also known as chi or prana.

When life-force energy is obstructed through emotional or physical trauma, postural imbalances or external invasion of pathogens, the natural healing mechanisms of our body may become challenged; as a result life-force stagnates.  The result is pain, low energy, and a general loss of the feeling of wellbeing; thus the body needs support.

By the integration of Zen Shiatsu, Traditional Thai Massage and the remediation techniques of Osteopathy together with the creation of a caring healing environment, Zenthai has evolved to be widely recognised as an effective structural and energetic form of therapy.

This is movement-based therapy with a reputation of effectively dealing with various issues related to the musculo-skeletal system, the nervous system and the digestive/elimination systems.

What to Expect

Thai Massage is like passive yoga; the body is moved through gentle but dynamic stretching and joint mobilisation techniques.  Shiatsu Massage relates to pressure point work along the energy lines of the body which releases energy blockages allowing the energy in the body to flow freely. It also releases tension and stimulates circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids. Rocking and pressure point work releases tension, helps to correct postural imbalances and relaxes the nervous system.

Zen Thai Massage is a hands-on movement based therapy incorporating stretching, pulsing, rocking and stillness.  This modality is received fully clothed and lying on a thin, cushioned mat on the floor. The session is tailored to each individual’s needs and can be offered as relaxation or a therapy with a specific focus.

"Lauren is gentle yet strong, I felt completely able to surrender to the treatment. She has a deep understanding of the body and works in an amazing fluid way to achieve outstanding results. I appreciate how Lauren takes the time to check in and make the treatment very specific to where I’m at in the moment. I felt held, safe, nourished and supported. Lauren read my body perfectly, found and resolved tension I didn’t realise I had until it was lifted. I feel like a new person! Very professional and sincere service. Looking forward to my next session."
